Okay, so last week. It was already a bad idea that I took a police motorbike from outside a station. Held down the throttle. There was a wall. I didn’t look at the wall fast enough. I hit it, took off, and landed on a random taxi that was just sitting there doing nothing. I was then arrested by a police officer while I was still sliding off the roof and onto the ground.
For a second, I just laughed at my phone. No one planned for that moment to happen. That was just how the physics worked because I made a bad choice, and the game took it from there. For example, Dude Theft Wars. There’s no strategy. It doesn’t have a spreadsheet. You’re just existing in this city, and it keeps throwing crazy things at you. Anytime you want, the tasks are there. I usually drive a car because I enjoy it and want to see what’s going on. When I rob a store, get chased by police, and lose cops in the garage. Even steal a favorite car. I do it again and enjoy this fun. It’s never boring to watch that loop.

There are no builds. It’s not optimized. There is no team to work with. Things happen when you play, and most of them are funny. That’s sometimes the only game mode I want to play after a long day.

Payday 2 is a much worse game when there are no good people in it. You can see the bots, but they’re not really there, if that makes sense. I had the best sessions with people who knew what to do without being told. We were all done with our jobs and left clean. That version of Payday 2 is really unique.

Dude, Theft Wars is a solo game, and I never really missed having other people around. The world is always interesting enough.
